(DDO) Answer New! Special Notice on MaxBlast. MaxBlast 4, the latest edition to MaxBlast, has now been released. MaxBlast 4 supersedes and replaces all versions of MaxBlast. Users are encouraged to download MaxBlast 4 to replace or upgrade any earlier versions of MaxBlast or MaxBlast Plus. Reasons for removing the DDO: 1. You have upgraded to a newer system that supports the full capacity of your hard disk, and plan to add the hard disk to the new system. 2. You have upgraded your current system's BIOS to support the full capacity of the hard disk. Note: If you have previous versions of MaxBlast with the EZ-BIOS overlay installed, it must first be converted to the latest MaxBlast DDO before performing any conversion operations. Moving the drive to a new system: With the drive still in the old system, boot to the MaxBlast CD or Floppy and choose the Maintenance Options. Select the upgrade MaxBlast option to upgrade from any older versions of the DDO. The DDO must be current before flashing the BIOS or moving to a new system. When finished upgrading, boot the system into Windows to make sure the DDO upgraded properly. After booting into Windows perform a normal shut down. Remove the drive and install it into the new system. Auto-Detect the drive in the new systems BIOS. Boot your system to the MaxBlast program and select Maintenance Options, then choose the Remove Dynamic Drive Overlay option and click Next. When finished remove the MaxBlast CD, or Floppy and power cycle the system. Restart system and boot into Windows. Removing DDO after BIOS upgrade: Removing the DDO after a BIOS upgrade is basically the same procedure as mentioned above except you dont have to move the drive. Check the technical documentation supplied by the BIOS flash to make certain that the upgrade will support the full capacity of the drive before removing the overlay.
