Freedom with free Thunder screenreader for blind and visually-impaired people!!! Thunder is free screenreader talking software for blind and visually impaired people. Screenreader.net is a not for profit company delivering free talking screenreader computer software to blind people anywhere in the world. Screenreader.net provides a reading aid and restores the ability to write, keep up to date with information and learning and remain within the mainstream of Society. There are 180 million such people in the world and no business can afford to ignore such potential buying power. The inspiration for ScreenReader.net came from two blind people in Peterborough, The School for social Entrepreneurs in London and Sensory Software Ltd in Manchester in the United Kingdom. Most blind people cannot afford the $500/1500 charged by commercial companies or some charities for screenreader talking software products. We listened to blind and visually impaired people and made the Thunder software free. In the first five months since the Thunder launch, we have acquired 1600 registered users as well as thousands of unregistered users. This means there are business opportunities here for organisations wanting to sell products or deliver information to blind and visually impaired individuals. We listened to blind-friendly organisations and designed a licensed Thunder package which is price competitive and sits on the network without troubling the technical support team. The result is that everyone is happy and users can get used to the same software at home and within an organisation. NB Please be aware that it is not permitted for organisations to modify, distribute or host the Thunder software without express permission or a licence from the Directors of ScreenReader.net. The free version of the Thunder software is only for personal use at home. NB Please be aware that it is not permitted for organisations to modify or distribute the Thunder software without express permission from ScreenReader.net.
