Navigating PC CILLIN with Jaws 7.0 You can make changes to configurations from the main console, which you can access in 1 of 2 ways. 1. If the application is loaded at startup, then you can get to the main console from the system tray by selecting it in the list and pressing enter select, open main console from the resulting list, and press enter. 2. The other way is from the start menu, then programs, then Trend Micro, and selecting main console from the sub-menu. Once the main console is open, you can navigate the various options, and dialogues using the tab key, and the arrow keys. Below is a list of the tab keys, as they appeared on my system. Use the spacebar, on any of these choices to open the resulting dialogue. 1. Update now, button. This selection does as it says, and if updates are available, you simply answer yes or no, to the download updates dialogue. 2. Scan now, button. The same applies here, and the scan will take place based on your configurations in the selections listed below. 3. Summary configure button. This will take you into the configuration options. 4. Summary configure button. This will take you to the configurations for automatic and manual updates. 5. Summary renew now button. This opens a dialogue allowing you to renew your subscription. 6. Anti-fraud configure button. This opens a dialogue where you can configure the application to protect personal imformation on your computer. 7. Contents and index. This opens the help manual. 8. Virus info. This will take you to the Trend Micro on-line encyclopedia of virus imformation. 9. Technical support. This will take you to the Trend Micro technical support website. 10. Customer care center. This will take you to the Trend micro customer care website. 11. About. This will give you imformation about the version of the application. 12. Security expert button. This selection will take you to the Trend Micro website. 13. Overview button. I was unable to activate this button. 14. Anti-virus button. This opens a dialogue where you can configure your anti-virus protection. 15. Anti-spyware button. This opens a dialogue where you can configure your anti-spyware protection. 16. Anti-fishing and content protection button. This opens a dialogue where you can configure your anti-fishing and content protection. 17. Network security button. This opens a dialogue where you can configure your network and internet connections protection. 18. General button. This opens a dialogue where you can configure updates, registration, and license renewal, as well as set a password, and set preferences. 19. Help button. This will open ahelp section, wich is very imformative, and straight forward, and expands on the descrittions that I have given above. Overall, once PC Cillin is installed, the default settings should keep you well protected, but taking some time to look at the help section, will help you better understand the application. In general, you already know that you don't want viruses, spyware, or other forms of mal-ware on your system, so keeping this in mind will make it easier to make your selections as you go thru the different dialogues. I have found this to be a very good security suite, and much easier to configure and interact with than other products I have used in the past such as products from Symantech. The program can be configured to do it's job, and not bother you while you are doing yours. If you need more detailed assistance, contact me off-list. HTH, Ricque
