Using E-Backup with Jaws. These instructions were written using E-Backup on Windows XP, with Jaws 6.2, and the E-Backup scripts installed,but should work with other versions of Windows and Jaws as well, provided the scripts are installed there too. Open the program, and press, control+ shift + E, to display a list of available functions. Creating a new backup: 1. Select, create a new backup, from the list, and press enter. 2. in the resulting dialogue, you will be presented with the same options as other common, save as, dialogues in Windows. Here is where you name your file, and select where to save it. Since you will already be in the edit box for the file name, I just press the delete key, to clear the field before typing the name I want. 3. when you are done, tab to the save button, and press the spacebar. 4. This will open another dialogue and you will be placed on the, next button, so tab past this, and you will find 4 checkboxes as follows: Windows addressbook Internet Explorer Favorites Outlook Express Identities Custom data folders The first 3 checkboxes will be checked by default, so make your selections and tab to the next button, and press the spacebar. 5. When this dialogue opens,,you may hear Jaws speak the name of an identity, and backup button. Tab until you hear Jaws say, multi-select list box. This is a list of all of your identities in Outlook Express, and all of them will be checked by default. If you don't want to backup all of them, then, use the arrow keys to move thru the list, using the spacebar to deselect any identity. 6. After making your selections, tab to the backup button, and press the spacebar to start the backup. 8. Route Jaws to PC, and then press the page- up key. Now, start reading down, and you can hear the progress of the backup. When the process is complete, continue reading down until you come to the close button, and press the right mouse key to close the wizard window. You are done. The restore process is similar to the create process, with the excception of all items being checked by default. In this process, you will have to select any and all items that you wish to restore. Once you have pressed the spacebar on the restore button, you can check the progress in the same manner as creating a new backup.
