Importing and address book in an Outllook Express Identity. Note: The address book is not part of the Outlook Express application. It is The Windows Address Book, and is part of the operating system, but is used by Outlook Express, and other applications. The steps outlined below, apply to systems with, or without Microsoft Outlook. If you have more than one identity in Outlook Express, and would like to use the same address book that your other identities use, then follow this procedure. 1. From within the identity that you would like to have the address book in, press control shift B, to open the address book. 2. From the file menu, select, import, and press enter. 3. from the resulting menu, choose, addressbook.wab, and press enter. This will open the import wizzard. 4. When the wizard opens, you will be in an edit combo box, so copy the below path for Windows Xp systems. and paste it into the edit combo box. Depending on your specific configuration , you may need to substitute your name, for, owner, in the path. C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book the same applies in Windows 98SE, use the following path c:\windows\application data\microsoft\address book 5. Now tab to the, open button, and press enter. 6. you should be in a combo box, where you can use the up and down arrow keys to select address book. once you have the address book selected, tab until you hear a list view,which will contain your current address book. 7. tab to the open button, and press enter. You should get a dialogue telling you that the import process has started. You will get another dialogue, when the process is complete, and just press enter on the okay button, and you will be returned to the address book, where you started from. You are done. Simply press escape to close the address book. There is an alternative method available, if you have Microsoft Outlook installed. If you have more than one identity in Outlook Express, and would like to use the same address book that your other identities use, then follow this procedure. 1. From within the identity that you would like to have the address book in, press control shift B, to open the address book. 2. from the tools menu in the address book, select options and press enter. 3. select the radio button: share address book imformation among Microsoft Outlook and other applications, and then tab to the okay button, and press enter. You are done, press escape to close the address book.
