Setting Up A Personality In Eudora: Eudora Pro allows you to set up multiple email accounts, so you do not have to replace your current POP and SMTP settings each time in order to send and receive new mail from numerous accounts. To create a jpersonality for an additional account, do the following. 1. From within Eudora, press Alt+t to activate the Tools Menu. 2. Press the letter p to select "Personalities," or locate "personalities" with the up/down arrow keys and press enter. 3. Press the applications key (located just to the left of the right control key). 4. Down arrow to the "New..." option, and press enter. You will be placed in a list box containing the following three options. Create a brand new email account Import settings from an existing email account Skip directly to advanced account setup. 5. Use the up/down arrow keys to select the "Create a brand new email account" option. Then, tab to "Next" and press enter. The New Account Wizard will be launched. 6. In the Personality Name edit box, type in a personality name of your choice to reflect the new account. For example, if you are popping a Yahoo account as a second account, you could type in "Yahoo Mail" without the quotation marks, of course. Then, tab to "Next" and press enter. 7. Type your name into the "Your Name" edit box, tab to "next" and press enter. 8. Type your E-Mail address for this account (i.e., user@yahoo.com) Into the "Email Address:" edit box. Then, tab to "next" and press enter. 9. If different from the one already shown, enter the portion of your E-Mail address name that appears before the @ symbol into the "Login Name" edit box. Do not enter the remaining portion beginning with the@ symbol. For example, if your E-Mail address is Jdoe@yahoo.com, just enter JDoe. Then, tab to "Next" and press enter. 10. Type the incoming server address (pop server address) into the "Incoming Server:" edit box. 11. Tab once and use the up/down arrows to select the "POP" option. Then, tab to "Next" and press enter. 12. Type the SMTP server address into the "Outgoing Server:" edit box. Then, tab to "Next" and press enter. 13. Press enter on the "Finish" button. This should launch the "Enter Password" dialog box. 14. Type your password for this account into the "Password" edit box, tab to "Okay" and press enter. To control deletion of messages from your new personality account, follow these steps: 1. Press Alt+t to activate the Tools Menu. 2. Press the letter p to select "Personalities," or locate "personalities" with the up/down arrow keys and press enter. 3. Locate the desired account with the up/down arrow keys, and then press the applications key. 4. Down arrow to the "Properties" option, and press enter. 5. Control+Tab to the "Incoming Mail" page. 6. Tab until you locate the "Leave mail on server" box. If you want to leave your messages on the server after popping them into Eudora, check this box. Otherwise, uncheck it. There are other server options you may want to configure as well.
