Creating a folder and mail rule in Group Wise for filtering email messages. 1. Create a folder to receive your items by entering the File menu (alt+f) and arrow down to "new". Hit "enter" and then arrow down to "folder". Hit enter" on "folder" and follow the prompts for size and placement. I find it helps to do this process in the Tree View at the spot where you want the new folder to reside. This is done while in Group Wise. 2. While in Group Wise, enter the Tools menu (alt+t). Arrow down to "Rules) and hit "enter". This should place you in a List View of existing mail rules, if any. 3. Tab to "new" and hit "enter". This will open an edit box where you will enter the name of the rule you are creating. 4. Tab to "new item" and check it with your spacebar. Tab to "received" and make sure it is checked. If it is not, check it with your spacebar. 5. Tab to "mail" and check it with the spacebar. 6. Tab to "define conditions" and hit "enter". This will open a combo box that lists various conditions from which you will choose what will trigger the rule. Examples are name of the author, the subject, etc. Arrow up and down until you find the first condition for your rule. 7. Tab once. On my computer this brings me to something that announces "menu button". Hit the spacebar and this will open another combo box style list. Arrow up and down to select the next part of your condition, i.e. "contains", "equals Match", etc. 8. Tab down once more to an edit box. You will enter the words or items that will trigger the rule. Tab to "ok" and hit "enter". 9. In the three above steps for a rule for the JFWlite list, you would first select "subject", tab once and hit the spacebar and arrow until you find "contains" and then tab once more and type in JFWlite. 10. Tab to "add action" and hit with the spacebar. 11. Arrow to "move to folder" and hit "enter". This will open a list of folders available in Group Wise. 12. Arrow to the folder name that you want your messages to go into. Select the folder by hitting the spacebar once focused on the folder name. 13. Tab to "move" and hit "enter". 14. Tab to "save" and hit "enter". 15. Tab to the list of rules and press the spacebar on the name of the rule you have just created. Tab to "run" and then hit "enter". Tab to "close" and hit "enter". Alt+f4 out of the rule dialog.
