Adjusting the Volume You can get to your volume controls several ways. In JFW 3.31 and above, you can press insert f11 for the system tray dialog and hit enter on volume. Then press enter on open volume controls. You can also go the run dialog on your start menu, type in sndvol32 and hit enter. The last method is on your programs menu. For windows 95 you will find volume control under Programs\Accessories\Multimedia. For windos 98 and above it will be under Programs/Accessories\Entertainment. Once in volume control, use tab to move between the various volume control settings. You will have a slider bar to adjust the volume of each volume control, use the Arrow keys for small changes or use the PAGE UP/DOWN keys for larger increment changes. To check your microphone settings, bring up your volume control, do an alt p for options, and then hit enter on properties. Tab to where it says adjust volume, and you will have three radio buttons, one for playback, one for recording, and one for other. Make sure you select the radio button for recording and hit enter. Then you should be able to find the slider for your microphone. Press alt f4 to accept the changes or ESC to exit without making or saving changes.
