Using Sound Recorder to say Hi! If you have a microphone, sound recorder can be used to record short wav files which you can then attach to a message and send to someone. To run sound recorder, on a windows 98 machine, bring up your start menu, p for programs, a for accessories, e for entertainment, and then hit enter on sound recorder. On a windows 95 machine, I believe sound recorder is on the multimedia menu. Or a short cut is to bring up your start menu, press r for the run dialog, type in sndrec32 and hit enter. Sound recorder will start. The following are a list of the keystrokes you can use with jaws. Control+R=Start Recording Control+S=Stop Recording Control+F=FastForward Control+P=Play Control+B=Rewind Control+L=LimitSpeech Insert+F8=SelectAButton. Press Control R to begin recording. Jaws says stop button. Speak into your microphone and record a short message. Press Control S to stop recording. Jaws says record button. Press alt f for the file menu, then press s for save. A standard save as dialog begins, type in a path and name you want to give the file. For example, c:\windows\desktop\hello. Press enter and the file will be saved with a wav extension. Press alt f4 to exit sound recorder. Bring up your email package and create a new message and insert an attachment. Locate the wav file you just created and attach it to the message and send it and say Hello there to somebody.
